Ivan Petrovszky does
not move away from day to day scene, he watches the world with
a reflective look and brings multiples faces, ordinary places
and sights absorbed in certain melancholic environment that becomes
part of our lives.
His drawings and paintings
are plenty of tired people, aged people, sleeping or somnolent
in a park, or just watching other people. Drawings and paintings
matured with decades of work of elegance and sobriety.
He has been awarded
with the Venezuelan National Prize and twice with the First
Prize at the Arturo Michelena Art Contest where, since 1982,
the First Prize for Drawing was named the Ivan Petrovszky
Prize.
